...between pleasure and pain in some situations. It's that razor's edge that we dare to sometimes walk.

That's what watching The Office is like for me. Finding humor in something that you have to live with for 40 hours of your week can be a risky business, if you'll pardon the pun. Moments of sheer joy followed by fits of post traumatic stress disorder can be a quite the rollercoaster. We've watched a good portion of the of English version of the series, and that was discomforting at times, but the new Americanized show moves it into new realms. Resetting it my native work culture and immersing me deep in the familiar dysfunction is a risky play by the writers and producers. But I keep watching. It's the sicko masochist in me. I think I need help.
